Lawful Intercept
Lawful Interception (LI) is obtaining communication data pursuant to lawful authority for the purpose of analyses or evidence. Such data generally consist of signaling or network management information or, in fewer instances, the content of the communications, sometimes also referred to as Interception Related Information (“IRI”).
The bases for LI is the interception of telecommunications and data streams by law enforcement agencies (LEAs), regulatory or administrative agencies, and intelligence services, in accordance with the local law in different countries. Under many telecom legislations operators have the obligation to fully cooperate with requests from LEAs and provide IRI when requested, following the due process and receiving proper authorization from competent authorities.
Our firm has the knowledge of and experience with assessing the requirements of the different government entities, verifying these with the telecom legislation and advice on the implementation of lawful intercept. Furthermore we assist with assembling RFP and coordination of the entire process.
